The Vegan Barbecue

On summer evenings when the heat of the day has past it is relaxing to build a fire and cook in the open. Please make sure your fire is secure as the danger of bushfires can be very high just before the rains start.  Children especially love the novelty of cooking outside and join in enthusiastically. The smell of smoke and cooking is tantalizing and there is something special about eating in the outside. Part of the enjoyment of eating food cooked over an open fire is the smoky flavour imparted to it. A handful of chopped rosemary sprinkled over the coals scents the smoke with a lovely smell.
Many vegetables can be cooked in the hot coals of the fire or on the grill.
