Salad Dressing No 1

This is a quick and simple dressing which will go with almost all salads.
Into a clean screw top jam jar pour oil and vinegar in the proportions of 5 to 1. Add salt and pepper, dry mustard and a little sugar.
Secure lid and shake well.
A little finely chopped onion or garlic or mixed herbs make a good addition.
Use at will. It keeps for a week.
